HKUST One Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition
HKUST One Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition was originated in 2011 on Clear Water Bay campus, aims to provide a platform for HKUST and surrounding community members an integrative learning experience to create and evaluate new business and to prepare students to start their future career in entrepreneurship.

Since 2016, the competition has developed in GBA, and expanded to Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Foshan, Zhongshan and Beijing, among which Shenzhen region is the most vibrant one. Operated by Blue Bay Incubator, the incubating arm under HKUST Shenzhen platform, the competition fully leverages the regional industrial resources, favorable government policies, and HKUST’s strong network in mainland, builds a collaborative and comprehensive platform to further foster the start-ups.

This year, Blue Bay joins hands with partners in Hong Kong and Shenzhen including government departments, universities, leading enterprises, media etc , to launch the the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Channel on basis of the competition, open to all HK entrepreneurs who are interested in developing in GBA, and provide quality resources and supports to entrepreneurs, further facilitate the exchange and collaborative innovation between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

Participant Requirements
The competition is open to the teams interested in starting a business in Shenzhen. Each team needs to have 2-5 members, and at least one member holds 20% share of the (planned) company.
Innovative Teams
· For startup teams with unregistered companies;
· Have entrepreneurial ideas and business plan/products;
· Plan to register a company in Shenzhen within 6 months after the competition.
Startup Companies
· For startups with registered companies;
· Companies registered within 5 years;
· With cumulative investment amount no more than 20 million yuan;
· Sales in the previous year did not exceed 20 million yuan.
Note:The top three teams in each division and national finals of the previous HKUST One Million Dollar Entrepreneurship Competition are not eligible to participate.
